FAQ 6: Metabolic Therapy after Surgery and Chemo-Rad?

“I had surgery, and chemo and radiation thereafter. Can I still do natural metabolic therapy?”

Metabolic therapy is not counter-productive to orthodox therapy. As a matter of fact, I consider it a valuable adjunct to the success of chemo/rad, and even to surgery. One must understand that the tumor is not the disease – that it is just a symptom of a cancer gone malignant.  “The clinical problem in treating a cancer victim is clearing the body of accumulated toxins.” Though surgery removes the tumor, chemo/rad, which is formulated to target actively dividing cells, leaves a slew of dead cells the accumulation of which, if left unmanaged, may cause toxemia and eventual death. “Many cancer victims have had their tumors successfully treated only to die of toxic poisoning…” [Dr. Kelley One Answer to Cancer 1974, page 16)

It is the change in life-style, comprehensive nutritional supplementation, and the long and laborious period of detoxification (which can take from 3 to 12 months), that will weave its healing effects on the ravaged and weakened body.

Dr. Kelley contends that “prognosis for a cancer victim is very good when the kidney and lung functions are at least 50% of normal, and an optimistic spiritual attitude is maintained.” And that “the rate of recovery is subject to another law – that of blood supply. If the rate of blood supply to an area is great, recovery is fast. If the blood supply to an area is inadequate, recovery is very slow. Thus, we find that those with Hodgkin’s Disease respond quickly, while those with brain or bone afflictions have a much slower response” [17]

A word of caution: “Aperson who has had cancer will always be susceptible and must keep constant vigilance. If at any time the free active pancreatic enzymes in the body falls below the amount that is necessary to keep the cancer cells digested, malignancy will always re-develop. Many people make the false assumption that just because their test comes in negative, they are free from cancer for life. This mistaken attitude has shortened the life of many.”

Why Coffee Enema Is Important in Metabolic Therapy

From the book One Answer to Cancer by Dr. William Donald Kelley (2010) page 38, via alternative-doctor.com:

CLEANSING THE COLON
The Coffee Enema

A high retention enema, using coffee, should be taken to aid in the elimination of toxic waste material from the body. The coffee enema should be taken daily for as long as one is on Metabolic Medicine’s  Cancer Cure Program. After 35 years, Dr. Kelley still takes his daily enema.

FAQ 4: A month on MT, why do lumps swell?

I have been on metabolic therapy for 4 weeks now. The lump seems to have gotten bigger with some swelling. Why is that?

Dr Kelley, in One Answer to Cancer, explains that as one goes on Metabolic Therapy, the malignant tumor masses often continue to grow temporarily (bold mine) before ones normal metabolic functions can take over.

Also, once started on Metabolic Therapy, the objective of which is to supply the body with adequate pancreatic enzymes to properly digest food and stop the disease process, some swelling can be expected once liquid debris is produced from the pancreatic enzymes’ digestion of the malignant tumor masses and cells. The swelling, frequently misinterpreted and often scaring the cancer victim, is actually temporary and subsides as the liquid debris is “gobbled up” by white blood cells and removed from the body by way of bile from the liver, which goes to the colon and out, as urine from the kidneys and out through the bladder, and by way of skin perspiration as well as hair and nail growth.

Along with temporary swelling, one other misinterpreted part of Metabolic Therapy is an increase in the number of white blood cells which is actually ‘considered to be a good sign’ as it indicates that the body’s defense system is effectively responding to facilitate proper disposal of liquid debris and toxins.

Take Care: Your Diet and Your Liver

Truly, we need to be careful what we choose to eat as our health depends largely on what our liver ends up having to process.

The liver is the major organ of detoxification, and also the most stressed by our modern lifestyle. One cannot live long without the heart, brain, kidneys, or pancreas, yet it is proper liver function which prevents these organs from becoming diseased. Here, in addition to metabolic wastes, is where environmental contaminants, food additives, and all other chemical pollutants are removed from the body. You should be as much or more concerned about the condition of your liver as about the condition of your heart. If you have had hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver, infectious mononucleosis, or other liver damage, you should become very protective of this vital organ. The intake of anything that places undue stress on the liver should be eliminated entirely. Such a list would include:

  • chemicals of any kind;
  • drugs;
  • synthetic foods;
  • artificial food additives, such as flavorings, colorings, preservatives, emulsifiers, stabilizers, sweeteners;
  • alcoholic beverages;
  • carbonated beverages;
  • hair sprays;
  • chemical deodorants;
  • reheated vegetable oils used in frying;
  • commercial pastries; and
  • most fast foods. (Bold mine) [One Answer to Cancer, 33]

FAQ 1: With lump gone and ultrasound negative, why is HCG titer still positive?

“I have been on metabolic therapy for months now and I can’t feel my lump anymore. It’s really totally gone. Even my ultrasound came out negative. But my Navarro HCG titer still comes in positive. Why is that?”
